UPA chairperson and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Thursday performed special ‘havan’ ahead of filing nomination from Raebareli constituency. Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were also present there.
“UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Congress President @RahulGandhi & GS I/c UP East Smt. @priyankagandhi attend a Puja ahead of Mrs. Gandhi’s nomination in Rae Bareli, UP,” Congress party tweeted.
“Hundreds of people gathered in Rae Bareli to share their love and support for UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, ahead of her nomination,” Congress party added.
“The streets of Rae Bareli are filled with love and support for Sonia Gandhi’s nomination,” Congress party further said.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have not fielded any candidate in this Congress bastion.
The voting for seven-phase Lok Sabha Polls has begun today. Raebareli will vote on May 6 and the counting of votes will take place on May 23.
