Six boys aged between 10 to 12 years have drowned in Ganga River in Kanpur on the afternoon of July 8. The incident happened while they were taking bath in the river.
Three bodies have been recovered so far, and rescue operations are underway to locate the three others.
While giving details on the rescue operation Manoj Gupta, Circle Officer, Colonelganj, said, “Six children have drowned. We have recovered three bodies, and the rescue operation for the three is still under way. We got divers, nets and boats for the operation.”
The victims were spotted by locals, who then informed the police and the divers and they came for their rescue.
The recovered corpses have been sent to Hallet hospital in Kanpur.
