President of Seychelles, Danny Antoine Rollen Faure on Saturday visited the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and paid his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. In the visitor’s book of the ashram he wrote a message which says, “The principle of non-violence is what we need to teach the children of our world, and what was expressed by Gandhi many years ago remains relevant today, An eye for an eye will make the world blind.”
President of Seychelles also visited IIM Ahmedabad earlier in the day and took a short tour of the heritage campus.
President Danny Faure is on 5 day state visit to India from 22-27 June 2018 and is accompanied by a high level delegation comprising of Cabinet Ministers and other senior officials of the Government of Seychelles.
The Seychelles President is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review wide-ranging bilateral cooperation including in the fields of defence and security and development partnership.
President Danny Faure will also be accorded a ceremonial welcome including inspection of a Guard of Honour at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on 25th June followed by a visit to Rajghat.
During his visit, the President of Seychelles will also be visiting the states of Goa and Uttarakhand.
