The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed on Thursday due to landslide at Digdol in Ramban district, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded on the highway.
According to the official, several heavy motor vehicles and light motor vehicles are stranded between Seri and Digdol.
“Efforts are being made to clear the highway,” official added.
“Jammu-Srinagar NHW-44 blocked due a massive landslide occurred at Digdol Ramban it may take whole day and may be night,” Jammu and Kashmir traffic police tweeted.
The Jammu-Srinagar highway connects the Kashmir valley with the rest of India.
