Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday announced his resignation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference of which he was a part since the 1990s.
In an audio message, Geelani made the announcement regarding his resignation saying that he is distancing himself completely from the Hurriyat Conference.
“In view of the present situation, I am announcing my complete dissociation from the forum. In this regard I have already sent a detailed letter to all constituents of the Hurriyat,” said Geelani in an audio message released today morning.
The 90-year-old has mostly been in house arrest since 2010.
