The Supreme Court on Friday confirmed the conviction and life sentence of Saravana Bhavan owner P Rajagopal’s for the abduction and murder of one of his employees in 2001.
The top court today upheld the Madras High Court’s order of life term to P Rajagopal.
Besides Rajagopal, five others were also sentenced for the murder of Santhakumar.
Santhakumar, the husband of Jeevajothi whom P Rajagopal wanted to marry was murdered and buried at Perumalmalai in the Kodaikanal forests.
It was the case of the prosecution that Rajagopal wanted her as his third wife and plotted the murder of the employee.
