The Supreme Court on Tuesday cancelled the RERA registration of the embattled real estate company Amrapali and also directed the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) to complete the pending housing projects of the group.
A bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra pronounced the verdict in the case.
The top court also directed Enforcement Directorate (ED) to register money laundering cases against Amrapali’s Chairman, managing director and directors.
In May 2019, the apex court had reserved the verdict after Noida and Greater Noida authorities said they don’t have the resources and expertise to construct the stalled projects of Amrapali Group.
The much-awaited verdict by the top court came as a relief for over 42,000 home buyers
