Rhea Chakraborty has been sent to 14-days judicial custody on Tuesday. Magistrate court, before whom she was produced, rejected her bail plea saying that they cannot grant bail for cognisable offences.
The 28-year-old actor was produced before the magistrate court via video conferencing. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) filed a plea before the court saying that they need to keep Rhea in custody for further questioning, sources said.
NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty after days of questioning and charged her under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for her connection with drugs-related allegations in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
Earlier in the day, Rhea had gone to the NCB office for further questioning for the third consecutive day.
She was named as an accused in the CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on June 14.
