The 27-year-old photographer from Singapore has been making waves with the latest edition of his evolving series\u00a0<em>Homework,\u00a0<\/em>initiated in 2010, which is showing as part of the exhibition\u00a0<em>Postcards from the Interior<\/em>\u00a0at Exhibit 320, Delhi. Initiated by Singapore-based artist Nicholas Foo and curated by Delhi-based photographer Tanvi Mishra, the show brings together photographers from India and Singapore in an attempt to explore self and identity. Lee\u2019s work fits right into the framework. In\u00a0<em>Homework<\/em>, he turns the camera onto his family. \u201cHe can\u2019t extricate himself from his work. It is as much about him as it is about his family, albeit in constructed fictional scenarios,\u201d says Mishra. She emphasises the importance of touch in his images \u2014 his parents hugging, his mother sitting on top of his father \u2014 something so simple yet so alien to children growing up in Singapore, or for that matter South Asia. Photographer Prashant Panjiar, who also selected Lee\u2019s work for 2011 Delhi Photo Festival, adds, \u201cThe root of affinity is family. It is yet another way of going into the self. Looking at family is looking at the self.\u201d Lee has also shown at the New York Photo Festival, the Arles Photo Festival and the Angkor Photo Festival where he won the Special Jury Prize (2007).<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-65834\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/img21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"455\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/img31.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-65836\" title=\"img3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/img31.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"327\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>The exhibition is on till 7 January.
