Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, dismissing his public image as \u201cshowmanship\u201d with no real \u201csubstance\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at Congress\u2019 OBC Leadership\u2014\u2018Bhagidari Nyay Mahasammelan\u2019\u2014on Friday, he posed a rhetorical question to the audience saying \u201cyou know what the real problem is in politics?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To this someone responded with PM Modi\u2019s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe media has simply blown it out of proportion, I have met him. It\u2019s all just showmanship, no substance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not the first time that Rahul has targeted PM Modi over his public image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, while highlighting the failures of several schemes, including \u2018Make in India,\u2019 he said that PM Modi was more about \u201ccatchy slogans\u201d than delivering real solutions to economic challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BJP hit out at Congress and Rahul Gandhi for his remarks and also \u201clevelling absurd allegations\u201d on Election Commission for conducting Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, suggesting that it reflect their \u201cmindset\u201d of recognising constitutional bodies on the basis \u201cof whether they won the elections or not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Party spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi also reflected on PM Modi surpassing Indira Gandhi and becoming the second-longest-serving PM of India in consecutive terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cPM Narendra Modi has completed 4078 consecutive days of his tenure. Surpassing Indira Gandhi\u2019s record, after Jawaharlal Nehru, he has become the longest-serving PM. His tenure is marked with golden chapters of development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cPM Narendra Modi is a PM who was elected through a public mandate. Whereas, when Indira ji and Nehru ji became the PMs for the first time, it was not through a public mandate but due to the situation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi is the first non-Congress PM to mark this achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
