Mathur and Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra, who resigned recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Gupta served as deputy chief minister in the Mehbooba Mufti-led coalition government, which collapsed in 2018 after the BJP pulled out, citing deteriorating security conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gupta has also served as Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and was elected mayor of Jammu for three consecutive terms between 2005 and 2010.
