SRINAGAR \u2014 After several days of intense summer heat, Kashmir Valley has finally received some respite as night temperatures dipped and moderate to heavy rainfall lashed many parts of the region over the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data shared by Kashmir Weather, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 19.0\u00b0C last night, a sharp drop of 4.5\u00b0C from the previous night\u2019s 23.5\u00b0C. This is significantly lower than the record-high minimum of 25.2\u00b0C seen just a few days ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other areas in the Valley also reported similar declines in temperatures. Qazigund cooled down to 18.6\u00b0C from 21.4\u00b0C, Pahalgam dropped to 14.2\u00b0C from 17.0\u00b0C, and Gulmarg recorded a low of 13.5\u00b0C compared to 15.5\u00b0C earlier. Kupwara saw a fall from 21.0\u00b0C to 18.2\u00b0C, while Kokernag settled at 18.2\u00b0C, slightly lower than its previous 19.2\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The temperature drop came alongside widespread rainfall. Srinagar city received 31.3 mm of rain, while Wular Lake topped the list with 32.5 mm. Sonamarg, a key route for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, received 21.5 mm, and Khudwani got 25.5 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rainfall was also reported from other parts of the Valley: Budgam and Baramulla (10.0 mm each), Pampore (2.1 mm), Srinagar Airport (16.4 mm), and Ganderbal (1.0 mm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Jammu region, several areas witnessed heavy showers as well. Rajouri received 47.2 mm of rain, followed by Katra (45.2 mm), Jammu city (39.4 mm), and Udhampur (19.4 mm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather forecasts suggest that the region will continue to experience cooler nights and moderate daytime temperatures over the next few days, with chances of light rain in some areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
