Prime Minister Narendra Modi today slammed Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress saying that their only aim was\u2014\u2018parivar ke saath, parivar ka vikas\u2019\u2014and not the people of Bihar. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEveryone should get the opportunity to progress and no one should be discriminated against. This is the essence of our Constitution. That is why we (BJP) say \u2018sabka saath sabka vikas\u2019. But the \u2018lantern\u2019 (RJD symbol) and \u2018panje\u2019(Congress symbol) people say, \u2018parivar ka sath, parivar ka vikas.\u2019 This is the gist of their politics. They do not shy away from harming crores of families in Bihar for the benefit of their families. Babasaheb Ambedkar was against such politics, \u201d he said speaking in poll-bound Bihar\u2019s Siwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government brought Bihar back on the path of development, he added, assuring the people that his government would continue to work for the development of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire world is appreciating India for its development, and they are seeing how the country is becoming the world\u2019s third-largest economic superpower. Bihar is going to play a very significant role in this direction, the PM asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slamming RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav for allegedly disrespecting BR Ambedkar\u2019s photograph, PM Modi said \u201cRJD will never apologise for what happened as they have no respect for Dalits and backwards,\u201d said PM Modi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PM\u2019s comment came days after a letter from the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to the state\u2019s Chief Secretary sought information on the actions taken regarding the incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversy erupted after a video from Lalu\u2019s birthday celebration went viral, showing a party supporter allegedly placing Dr Ambedkar\u2019s portrait near the RJD chief’s feet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bihar SC Commission also issued a notice to Yadav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PM also invoked the legacy of India\u2019s first President Rajendra Prasad who was born in Siwan and his contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi also launched several development projects worth more than Rs 5,900 crore in Siwan district related to water, rail, and power sectors during his visit. \u201cI want to do more for Bihar, for every village, for every household, for every youth,  \u201d   the PM also said, listing the works done by the NDA government in Bihar in the last 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is his fourth visit  to the state since January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,  Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha and other senior NDA leaders were also present at the rally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
