Travelers can reserve rides on the traditional wooden boats, known for their vibrant canopies and intricate decorations, at least 12 hours and up to 15 days in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dal Lake is home to around 4,000 shikaras, which have long been a staple for both local commutes and tourism. While Uber will facilitate bookings, it will not charge a fee, ensuring that operators receive the full fare paid by passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move has received mixed reactions from shikara operators. Wali Mohammad Bhatt, president of the Shikara Owners Association, welcomed the development, highlighting fixed pricing and convenience for customers as key benefits.
