{"id":347545,"date":"2024-01-30T01:23:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T06:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=347545"},"modified":"2024-01-30T14:26:47","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T19:56:47","slug":"nitin-gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-rs-2367-crore-in-mp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/nitin-gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-rs-2367-crore-in-mp\/","title":{"rendered":"Nitin Gadkari rolls out highway projects worth Rs 2,367 crore in MP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-Rs-2367-crore-in-MP.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-347546\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2024\/01\/Gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-Rs-2367-crore-in-MP.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2024\/01\/Gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-Rs-2367-crore-in-MP-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2024\/01\/Gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-Rs-2367-crore-in-MP-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2024\/01\/Gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-Rs-2367-crore-in-MP-696x391.jpeg 696w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2024\/01\/Gadkari-rolls-out-highway-projects-worth-Rs-2367-crore-in-MP-747x420.jpeg 747w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>New Delhi : Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of nine national highway projects worth Rs 2, 367 crore covering a total length of 225 km in Madhya Pradesh\u2019s Jabalpur district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the projects that were inaugurated include a 1.5 km long bridge on Jamni river on Tikamgarh-Jhansi road at a cost of Rs 43 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis will make it easier to reach Orchha, the tourist destination of Rajaram&#8217;s temple, \u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the construction of a road with a 2-lane paved shoulder from Chandia Ghat to Katni Bypass will bring a qualitative change in connectivity to the coal mines of Katni while widening of Bamitha-Khajuraho road will strengthen tourism in Khajuraho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBesides, the social and economic condition of this area will also improve, \u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the projects include upgradation work of the road from Gulganj Bypass to Barna River, 2-lane road upgradation work from Barna River to Ken River, upgradation work with 2-lane paved shoulder from Shahdol to Sagartola, Lalitpur-Sagar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe construction of a total of 23 VUPs, bridges, service roads in the Lakhnadon section, construction of a total of three foot overbridges at Suktra, Kurai and Khawasa and improvement work of 2 black spots at Ghunai and Banjari valley is included, \u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that these projects will improve the connectivity of the surrounding campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTime and fuel will be saved and the area will develop from the economic, social and tourism point of view, \u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, state ministers, as well as MPs and MLAs of the region were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi : Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of nine national highway projects worth Rs 2, 367 crore covering a total length of 225 km in Madhya Pradesh\u2019s Jabalpur district.
