{"id":342084,"date":"2023-02-22T05:57:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T11:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=342084"},"modified":"2023-02-22T08:08:56","modified_gmt":"2023-02-22T13:38:56","slug":"home-ministry-gives-nod-to-prosecute-delhi-dy-cm-sisodia-in-snooping-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/home-ministry-gives-nod-to-prosecute-delhi-dy-cm-sisodia-in-snooping-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Home Ministry gives nod to prosecute Delhi Dy CM Sisodia in snooping case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Manish-Sisodiya.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-342085\" width=\"382\" height=\"212\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>New Delhi: Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given sanction to prosecute Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia under the Prevention of Corruption Act in connection with the alleged &#8216;Feedback Unit (FBU) snooping case&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will now lodge a fresh case against Sisodia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CBI in its preliminary inquiry report has found that the FBU formed through a Delhi cabinet decision on September 29, 2015 indulged in gathering political intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delhi Lt. Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena had also given his approval to the CBI to file a case against Sisodia and six others over allegations that the AAP government created a Feedback Unit under the vigilance department to collect political intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;From the careful perusal of the note, it can be unambiguously observed that there was a concerted effort by the state government to create an agency that was outside it&#8217;s mandate and not within the constitutional scheme of Governance. &#8220;There seems to have been a well conceived attempt to establish an extraneous and parallel covert agency with overarching powers of snooping and trespass, without any legislative, judicial or executive oversight whatsoever, &#8221; L-G Saxena has observed in his order<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi: Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given sanction to prosecute Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia under the Prevention of Corruption Act in connection with the alleged &#8216;Feedback Unit (FBU) snooping case&#8217;.
