Four militants were killed in two separate anti-militancy operations in south Kashmir\u2019s Anantnag and Pulwama districts on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Two militants killed in Pulwama were planning to carry out a suicide attack on a security forces\u2019 camp,\u00a0 the J&K Police said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Mukhtar Bhat is among the three killed terrorists [in Pulwama\u2019s Awantipora area],\u201d Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar said. \u201cAs per source, he, along with a foreign terrorist, was going for \u2018 fidayeen\u2019 attack on security forces\u2019 camp. The Awantipora police and the Army averted a major terror incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ADGP said Bhat was involved in the killing of one Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force and two Railway Protection Force personnel.<\/p>\n

One AK-47 rifle, one AK-56 rifle and one pistol were recovered from the encounter site at Pulwama\u2019s Awantipora.<\/p>\n

Police also arrested three militants in Srinagar and \u201c10 kilogrammes bucket Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and two hand grenades\u201d were recovered from them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe IED is being destroyed in-situ in the Rangreth area by the Bomb Disposal Squad. A case has been registered under Sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, Arms Act, and Explosives Act,\u201d the police said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
