Earlier three names edged out of the race including Ambika Soni,\u00a0Sunil Jakhar, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Channi 58, a minister in the outgoing Amarinder Singh cabinet, is known to be close to Navjot Singh Siddhu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Channi was born in Punjab\u2019s Bhajauli village near Kurali in 1963.
