The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday dismissed a plea challenging the Delhi High Court\u2019s order which had rejected the petitions seeking to halt Central Vista construction work around India Gate in the Central Vista Project in view of COVID pandemic.<\/p>\n

A bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Aniruddha Bose said it is not liable to interfere with the High Court order as the PIL petitioners had selectively chosen Central Vista Project and did not even do basic investigation about other public projects which were authorized during the lockdown in the national capital.<\/p>\n

According to the bench \u201cThe High Court\u2019s view is a possible view. You challenged one project selectively. Petitioners are not in a position to point out that as public spirited individuals they have made inquiries into other projects\u2026 We record that the findings of the High Court are possible views. No interference is called for with the High Court order,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe dismiss the plea. Questionable PILs have caused problems to our system. PIL has its own sanctity and is for all of us. But, this is not the way to pursue this.
