Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute tweeted Monday, reassure to resolve the issue of Covishield-vaccinated Indians face problems with travel to the European Union as per EU’s new ‘vaccine passport’ scheme.<\/p>\n

He said the matter is being taken up at the highest levels, hoping to resolve this matter soon.<\/p>\n

“I realise that a lot of Indians who have taken COVISHIELD are facing issues with travel to the E.U., I assure everyone, I have taken this up at the highest levels and hope to resolve this matter soon, both with regulators and at a diplomatic level with countries,”he said in a tweet.<\/p>\n

Covishield, a Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India hasn\u2019t been permitted by European Medicines Agency.<\/p>\n

According to the rules, the travelers who have taken the Covishield, manufactured by Pune-based SII won’t be eligible for the European Union ‘Green Pass’.<\/p>\n

So far, only 4 vaccines; Comirnaty (Pfizer), COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen, Spikevax and AstraZeneca’s Vaxzevria have been approved by the regulatory authority.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
