Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday told that he has written a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray to investigate the corrupt malpractices and allegations levelled against him by former Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh. Deshmukh made the statement in a midnight tweet and also shared the copy of his March 21 letter to Thackeray, in which he wanted an immediate investigation into Singh’s allegation.
\n“I had demanded the honourable chief minister to order a probe into Param Bir Singh’s allegation against me to clear the air. I will welcome if the honourable chief minister orders probe,” Deshmukh tweeted, adding “Satyamev Jayate”.
\nAnil Deshmukh had said in his letter, that there is “no truth” in the allegations levelled against him and demanded investigation into the matter.
\nParam Bir Singh had created a wave in Maharashtras political circles on March 20 through his eight-page letter to Thackeray claiming that Deshmukh wanted police officers to collect Rs 100 crore monthly from bars and hotels.
\nOn the same day, Deshmukh trashed the allegations Singh made against him.
\nThe state government had transferred Param Bir Singh on March 17 from the post of city police commissioner to the low-key home guard department in a fall out of the investigation, in the case of a car full of explosives found near the home of Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani.
\nDeshmukh had said after a day that, Singh was transferred after some of the latter\u2019s colleagues\u2019 committed “serious and unforgivable mistakes”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
