\"\"Opposition leaders who reached Ghazipur border to meet the protesting farmers have been stopped by Delhi police.<\/span><\/p>\n

NCP MP Supriya Sule, who is part of the delegation of Opposition MPs, said that we wanted to meet the farmers at Ghazipur border. She said the farmers have been protesting in the area for the last 70 days. \u201cThe government needs to hold discussion with the farmers to end the months-long deadlock,\u201d said Sule.<\/span><\/p>\n

SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal said, \u201cSaw first hand the conditions created at Ghazipur border. Shocked to see the treatment being meted out to the \u2018annadaata\u2019. Farmers are barricaded behind fortress like concrete barriers & barbed wire fencing.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEven ambulances & fire brigades cannot enter the protest site,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSee the high handedness of the BJP led GOI even against the MPs! We were forced to alight 3 km from the peaceful protest site.\u00a0 But we are undeterred. We are determined to see the conditions first hand and force the govt into action,\u201d SAD MP tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c.@Akali_Dal_ joins hands with like minded parties & MPs who are visiting #ghazipur border to condemn atrocities being inflicted on farmers. Even MPs are not being allowed to meet peacefully protesting farmers. This is truly a black day for democracy!\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Harsimrat Kaur Badal earlier tweeted, \u201cLeaving with 15 MPs from 10 political parties to #GhazipurBorder in a bus to see the ground situation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

DMK MP Kanimozhi said, “The MPs have come to Ghazipur border to meet farmers to hear their problems. Our own people have been stopped from entering the national capital with the multi-layered barricading.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Farmers are denied basic rights, including drinking water and internet service. The government treats them like enemies,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several farmers have been protesting at various border points of Delhi since November 26, against the Centre\u2019s three farm laws.<\/span><\/p>\n
