The top court also said a committee would be formed to find a solution to the matter.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis committee will be for us. All of you people who are expected to solve the issue will go before this committee. It will not pass an order or punish you, it will only submit a report to us,\u201d said CJI Bobde.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Court said, \u201cWe are concerned about the validity of the laws & also about protecting life and property of citizens affected by protests. We are trying to solve the problem in accordance with the powers we have. One of the powers we’ve is to suspend the legislation and make a committee.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are forming a committee so that we have a clearer picture. We don’t want to hear arguments that farmers will not go to the committee. We are looking to solve the problem. If you (farmers) want to agitate indefinitely, they can do so,\u201d said CJI.<\/span><\/p>\n

The committee is part of the judicial process in this case. We are planning to suspend the laws but not indefinitely, CJI added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The petitioner for the farmers, Advocate ML Sharma, said, \u201cThe farmers are saying many people came for discussion, but the main person, the Prime Minister did not come.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

To which, the CJI said, \u201cWe cannot ask the Prime Minister to go. He is not a party in the case.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Court was hearing several petitions challenging the three farm laws recently passed by the Parliament.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
