\"\"The Supreme Court on Monday said that it was extremely disappointed with the way the farmers’ protest was handled by the government.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hearing a batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the three farm laws, the top court asked the Centre if the legislations can be put on hold for some time.<\/span><\/p>\n

We don’t know what negotiations are going on? Can the farm laws be put on hold for some time?, asked the bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Court said that if the Centre does not want to stay the implementation of the three laws, it will do so.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will stay implementation of laws\u2026…You can carry on the protest. But the question is whether the protest should be held at the same site,\u201d said CJI.<\/span><\/p>\n

The court said, \u201csome people have committed suicide, old people and women are a part of the agitation. What is happening?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEach one of us will be responsible if something goes wrong. We don’t want anybody’s blood on our hands,\u201d CJI said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe do not think the Centre is handling this issue correctly. We have to take some action today. This is a very serious matter,\u201d the court said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The CJI pointed out that there is not a single petition before the top court which says that the farm laws are good.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several farmers have been protesting since November 26 at various border points of Delhi against Centre\u2019s farm laws.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
