The decision has been taken amid concerns over the new coronavirus strain which has emerged in the UK.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in a tweet said, \u201cDecision has been taken to extend the temporary suspension of flights to &amp; from the UK till 7 January 2021. Thereafter strictly regulated resumption will take place for which details will be announced shortly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">India has so far reported 20 cases of the new coronavirus variant. Earlier, the government had temporarily suspended flights from the UK till December 31.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Union Health Ministry has said that about 33,000 passengers disembarked at various Indian airports from the UK from November 25 to December 23 midnight.
