\"\"Stones were hurled at the convoy of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda and party leader\u00a0Kailash Vijayvargiya when they were heading towards Diamond Harbour area in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides Nadda, a number of cars, including that of Kailash Vijayvargiya and Dilip Ghosh, were damaged in the attack.<\/span><\/p>\n

BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra in a tweet said, \u201cOur cars attacked in Bengal!! Window panes broken Shri Shivprakash ji,Shri Sanjay Mayukh ji & myself were travelling in this car. One karyakarta in our car is bleeding!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGod save our lives!! @MamataOfficial is this democracy??\u201d he questioned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several BJP leaders condemned the attack on party president JP Nadda and other leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a tweet said, \u201cAttack on our @BJP4India President Hon @JPNadda ji\u2019s convoy & @KailashOnline ji\u2019s car is very deplorable and shameful act by @AITCofficial TMC goons! We strongly condemn this and demand action against the guilty. Is this democracy @MamataOfficial didi?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Party leader Roopa Ganguly tweeted, \u201cWe are witnessing the death of democracy. This is unacceptable. Every single one involved in such an #shameful act will be answerable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis “IS” the true #reportcard @AITCofficial your true face, your #politicalintolerance is exposed Assaulting and murdering #BJP karyakartas, hurling bricks will NOT stop the inevitable,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

BJP MP Swapan Dasgupta tweeted, \u201cI was lucky to not get hurt running the TMC gauntlet on way to BJP event in Diamond Harbour. It says a lot for the mindset of TMC in WBengal that even @JPNadda\u2018s vehicle is not spared. The assault on democratic politics is complete.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier in a day, BJP\u2019s West Bengal unit chief Dilip Ghosh alleged security lapse during the party\u2019s national president JP Nadda\u2019s visit to West Bengal. He said he has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the same.<\/span><\/p>\n
