During the last meeting on December 5, farmers\u2019 union leaders stuck to their demand for the withdrawal of the new farm laws. The next round of talks between Centre and farmers\u2019 Unions will be held on December 9.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Chakka jam\u2019 has started in Delhi. Security has been\u00a0tightened<\/span>\u00a0at key protest sites on Delhi borders.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today alleged that CM Arvind Kejriwal was put under house arrest by Delhi police and no one is allowed to enter and leave his residence.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBJP\u2019s Delhi Police has put Hon\u2019ble CM Shri @ArvindKejriwal under house arrest ever since he visited farmers at Singhu Border yesterday No one has been permitted to leave or enter his residence,\u201d AAP said in a tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n

AAP MLA from Greater Kailash, Saurabh Bharadwaj held a press conference and accused the Ministry of Home Affairs of detaining Kejriwal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Delhi Police refuted the charges made by AAP. In a tweet, DCP North Delhi said, \u201cThis claim of CM Delhi being put on house arrest is incorrect. He exercises his right to free movement within the law of the land. A picture of the house entrance says it all.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, former Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta took a dig at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over the allegations that the latter was put under \u2018house arrest\u2019 to prevent him from protesting on \u2018Bharat Bandh\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDelhi CM @ArvindKejriwal scores a self-goal as he is caught lying again. Falsely claiming that he been put under house arrest, he wants to fool the farmers. What he is actually doing is running away from his responsibility towards the people of Delhi,\u201d Vijender tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vehicular traffic was hampered today morning as several farmers held a sit-in at Ghazipur entry point on the National Highway-24 that connects Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Protesting farmers blocked Chandigarh highway as part of their ‘Bharat Bandh’ call.<\/span><\/p>\n

Social activist Anna Hazare sat on a day-long hunger strike to support agitating farmers; demanding repeal of the Centre’s farm laws.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shops and commercial establishments remained shut at many places in Punjab and Haryana today morning in view of a ‘Bharat Bandh’.<\/span><\/p>\n
