\"\"The\u00a0Cyclonic Storm\u00a0\u2018Burevi\u2019\u00a0over southwest Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 15 kmph during past six hours and lay centered at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 02nd\u00a0December 2020 over southwest Bay of Bengal, about 240 km east-southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), 470 km east-southeast of Pamban and 650 km nearly east-northeast of Kanyakumari, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).<\/span><\/p>\n

It is very likely to intensify further during the next 12 hours. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross Sri Lanka coast, close to north of Trincomalee during evening\/night of 2nd\u00a0December\u00a0as a Cyclonic Storm\u00a0with a wind speed of 80-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph. It is very likely to move nearly west-northwestwards thereafter, emerge into Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Comorin area on December 3 morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cyclonic Storm with wind speed of\u00a070-80 gusting to 90 kmph\u00a0would be centered very close to Pamban around noon of December 3.\u00a0It would then move nearly west-southwestwards and cross south Tamilnadu coast between Kanyakumari and Pamban around early morning of December 4 as a Cyclonic Storm with wind speed of 70-80 gusting to 90 kmph, the IMD said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Heavy to very heavy rainfall\u00a0at a few places with isolated\u00a0Extremely heavy falls\u00a0very likely over\u00a0south Tamilnadu (Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai)\u00a0on 2nd\u00a0and 3rdDecember, 2020; over south Kerala(Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta andAlappuzah) on 3rd\u00a0December and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over south Tamil Nadu on 2nd& 4th\u00a0December 2020 and south Kerala on 3rd& 4th\u00a0December, 2020, according to official press release.<\/span><\/p>\n

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Mahe & Karaikal and north Kerala on 2nd & 3rd\u00a0December, isolated heavy rainfall on 4th\u00a0December.<\/span><\/p>\n

Heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on 2nd & 03rd December and over Lakshadweep on 03rd & 4th December, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sea conditions is very rough to high over southwest Bay of Bengal and along & off east Sri Lanka coast and the same will continue till night of 3rd December morning and gradually improve thereafter.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will be rough to very rough over Comorin Area, Gulf of Mannar, along & off south Tamil Nadu-Kerala and west Sri Lanka coast on 2nd\u00a0and very rough to high on 3rd\u00a0and 4th\u00a0December.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sea condition will be rough to very rough over Lakshadweep-Maldives area and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea during 3rd\u00a0\u2013 5th\u00a0December.<\/span><\/p>\n

Total suspension\u00a0of fishing operation\u00a0during 2nd to 5th\u00a0December over the areas as mentioned below.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fishermen are advised not to venture into southwest Bay of Bengal and along & off east Sri Lanka coast from\u00a02ndto 3rd December; Comorin Area, Gulf of Mannar and south Tamil Nadu-Kerala and west Sri Lanka coasts from\u00a02ndto 4thDecember,\u00a0over Lakshadweep-Maldives area & adjoining southeast Arabian Sea\u00a0from 3rd to 5th December.<\/span><\/p>\n
