From all over the state farmers are stopping the movement of traffic at roads and highways. Many trains were suspended as the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee staged \u2018rail roko\u2019 agitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Activists of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) are also protesting on rail tracks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Farmers are also requesting traders across the state to keep their shops closed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">As per the railway authorities, 14 pairs of special trains will remain suspended from September 24 to 26. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of passengers and protection of railway property from any damage, officials said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Parliament on September 20 passed the Farmers\u2019 and Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020\u00a0amid protest by Opposition.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Farmers have launched their protest against the farms&#8217; Bills passed by Parliament by giving a call for Bandh across Punjab.
