He was admitted to a hospital after he tested positive for coronavirus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">BJP National Secretary Y Satya Kumar condoled the demise of Gasti.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u201cAnguished to hear about the demise of newly elected @BJP4India Rajyasabha MP from Karnataka Shri Ashok Gasti Ji. He was a senior @BJP4Karnataka Leader who served the party for years. My condolences to his family. Om Shanti,\u201d Kumar tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ashok Gasti was an Indian politician and a lawyer from\u00a0Raichur,\u00a0Karnataka.\u00a0He was also the general secretary of the BJP&#8217;s\u00a0OBC\u00a0Cell.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Gasti, who had also served as the chairman of Karnataka Backward Class Development Corporation had taken oath as a Rajya Sabha MP this year.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rajya Sabha MP and BJP Karnataka leader Ashok Gasti passed away in Bengaluru on Thursday.
