The incident took place on Monday when the girl had gone to a neighboring town to fill up an online scholarship application form. Her parents informed the police when she did not return home. Later the body was discovered by a few boys from the village near a dried pond. Post mortem report confirmed rape and probe is underway, police said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday urged Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel to look into the matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In a tweet, Priyanka said, &#8220;Your Excellency, Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Condition of women safety in Uttar Pradesh is in bad shape. A girl, who was on her way to fill an online form in Lakhimpur district was raped and brutally murdered. These incidents are happening on a daily basis in UP.
