The news of the legendary classical music vocalist\u2019s demise was announced by his daughter Durga Jasraj.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pandit Jasraj turned 90 in January this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a musical career spanning over 80 years, Pandit Jasraj was honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the unfortunate demise of Pandit Jasraj has left a deep void in the country’s cultural sphere.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Ram Nath Kovind condoled the demise of music legend in a tweet and said, \u201cMusic legend and unparalleled classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj\u2019s passing makes me sad. Spanning a distinguished career of over 8 decades, Pandit Jasraj, a Padma Vibhushan recipient, enthralled people with soulful renditions. Condolence to his family, friends & music connoisseurs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu also condoled the death of music legend Pandit Jasraj, saying he created timeless masterpieces in Indian classical music.<\/span><\/p>\n
