\u201cIAF salutes the indomitable courage, valour and selfless sacrifice of the heroes of the Kargil War. Jai Hind!,\u201d Indian Air Force wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, \u201cKargil Vijay Diwas is indeed the celebration of India\u2019s proud tradition of outstanding Military service, exemplary valour and sacrifice. The unwavering courage and patriotism of our Armed Forces has ensured that India is safe and secure.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy gratitude to those who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. I bow to their families, who despite losing their loved ones, remained steadfast in their support of the national resolve in driving out the enemies from our territory,\u201d the Defence Minister added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am also grateful to those who despite becoming disabled in battle, continue to serve the country in their own ways and have set examples worthy of emulation by the Nation,\u201d Rajnath said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Union Home Minister\u00a0Amit Shah\u00a0saluted the valor of the Indian soldiers on the occasion of 21st anniversary of the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Kargil Vijay Day is a symbol of India’s proud, valor and steadfast leadership. I bow to the soldiers who, with their indomitable courage, drove the enemy from the inaccessible hills of Kargil and waved the tricolor there again. The country is proud of the heroes of India, dedicated to protecting the motherland,” Shah tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the successful\u00a0Operation Vijay, is celebrated in India on July 26 every year, in honour of the Kargil War\u2019s Heroes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Kargil war\u00a0was fought for over 60 days, ended on July 26 and resulted in loss of life on both the sides.<\/span><\/p>\n

The war ended with India regaining control of all the previously held territory, re-establishing the\u00a0status quo ante bellum.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
