A total of 20,642 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">There are 2,64,944 active cases while 4,56,830 have been cured\/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 2,17,121 with\u00a09,250 fatalities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases \u2013 1,18,594 with 1,636 deaths followed by Delhi \u2013 1,02,831 and 3,165 deaths, Gujarat \u2013 37,550 cases and\u00a01,977 fatalities and Uttar Pradesh \u2013 29,968 cases and 827 deaths.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">A total of 1,04,73,771 samples have been tested up to July 7 of which 2,62,679 samples were tested yesterday, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 7,42,417 as it recorded 22,752 fresh infections in the last 24 hours.
