No death reported till now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, spokesperson of Manipur Health Department, in a\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">press statement, said that 31 persons were confirmed for COVID-19 on Wednesday at Viral<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, Regional Institute of Medical Science, Imphal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Mr. Mangang added that 13 people were from Imphal West district, 13 from Tamenglong\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">district, two from Kakching district, and one from Bishnupur district.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThe patients will now be shifted to COVID Care facilities in Imphal and the concerned\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">district authorities have already taken up all necessary precautionary measures,\u201d the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">spokesperson added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Presently, Manipur has a total of 342 confirmed cases of the COVID-19, of which 279 are<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">active.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThe probability of a discharged person becoming positive again is very low and such virus\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">are usually non-viable,\u201d Mr. Mangang said, appealing that, people discharged from Hospitals\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">should not be stigmatized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Meanwhile, India recorded the highest single-day spike of 357 fatalities and 9,996 cases on<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Thursday, pushing the death toll to 8,102 and the nationwide tally to 2,86,579, according to the Union Health Ministry data.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manipur has reported 31 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of cases to 342, State Health Department said on Thursday.
