There are 23,651 active cases while 8,324 have been cured\/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Maharashtra has highest COVID-19 cases \u2013 9,915, followed by Gujarat \u2013 4,082, Delhi \u2013 3,439, Madhya Pradesh \u2013 2,561 and Rajasthan \u2013 2,438.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) held a comprehensive review meeting on the lockdown situation on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">According to the official release, it was noted that there have been tremendous gains and improvement in the situation because of the lockdown till now. To ensure that the gains of the lockdown are not squandered away, the lockdown guidelines must be observed strictly till May 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">New guidelines to fight COVID-19 will come into effect from May 4, which would give considerable relaxations to many districts, the statement said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The MHA has allowed the movement of migrant workers, tourists, students and others stranded at various places because of lockdown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">According to ministry guidelines, all persons to be medically screened at source and destination; and should be kept in home\/institutional quarantine on arrival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The order from the home ministry asked state governments to appoint nodal officers to facilitate inter-state movement of stranded.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COVID-19 cases in India rose to 33,050, with 1,074 deaths.
