There are 16,454 active cases, while 4,257 have been cured\/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Maharashtra has highest COVID-19 cases \u2013 5,652, followed by Gujarat- 2,407, Delhi \u2013 2,248, Rajasthan \u2013 1,890 and Tamil Nadu \u2013 1,629.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Vice President Venkaiah Naidu today praised the government&#8217;s decision in bringing an ordinance to protect health workers amid the coronavirus crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWelcome the decision of the government to bring out an ordinance making attacks on health workers cognizable &amp; non-bailable. It is unfortunate that we are witnessing attacks on health workers, who are rendering selfless service in the fight against COVID19 pandemic,\u201d Naidu said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cI am sure this decision will provide the much-needed safety.
