{"id":322425,"date":"2020-04-19T10:34:11","date_gmt":"2020-04-19T10:34:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=322425"},"modified":"2020-04-19T10:37:58","modified_gmt":"2020-04-19T10:37:58","slug":"govt-transfers-more-than-rs-36659-crore-in-bank-accounts-of-16-01-crore-beneficiaries-during-covid-2019-lockdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/govt-transfers-more-than-rs-36659-crore-in-bank-accounts-of-16-01-crore-beneficiaries-during-covid-2019-lockdown\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt transfers more than Rs 36,659 crore in Bank accounts of 16.01 crore \u00a0beneficiaries\u00a0 during COVID 19 lockdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"clear: both; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-315906 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/money.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/10\/money.jpg 551w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/10\/money-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/10\/money-100x70.jpg 100w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/10\/money-218x150.jpg 218w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 551px) 100vw, 551px\" \/>Ministry of Finance in a statement released on Sunday informed that more than Rs 36,659 crore has been transferred by using Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)\u00a0 through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) in the Bank accounts of 16.01 crore beneficiaries\u00a0 during COVID 2019 lockdown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"clear: both; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">The following are the details of cash benefits transferred by using PFMS for making DBT payments during COVID 19 period (24<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0March 2020 till 17<sup>th<\/sup>April 2020).<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"clear: both; text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">During COVID 19Lockdown i.e\u00a024<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0March 2020 till 17<sup>th<\/sup>April 2020\u00a0;\u00a0 the DBT payments under all the Central Sector\/Centrally Sponsored Schemes through PFMS amounted to\u00a0Rs. 27,442.08 crore\u00a0 in the accounts of 11,42,02,592 beneficiaries through schemes like\u00a0PM KISAN, Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS), National Social Assistance Program(NSAP), Prime Minster\u2019sMatruVandanaYojana (PMMVY), National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), National Health Mission (NHM), Scholarship Schemes of various ministries through\u00a0National Scholarship Portal (NSP).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"clear: both; text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Apart from above mentioned schemes, payments were also made under the\u00a0PM GaribKalyanYojana,Rs 500 was credited in the women account holder of Jan- Dhan accounts. Till 13th April 2020 the total number of women\u00a0beneficiaries were 19.86 crore, which resulted in disrbursement of\u00a0Rs 9,930 crore\u00a0(as per data of\u00a0 Department of Financial Services).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li style=\"clear: both; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">During COVID 19 period, many State Governments like UP, Bihar, MP, Tripura, Maharashtra, J&amp;K, AP and others \u00a0\u00a0have used DBT to transfer cash in the bank accounts.
