The most recent date set by court for their execution was March 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The death warrant was issued a day after President Ram Nath Kovind rejected the mercy petition of one of the convicts Pawan Gupta.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">With the President&#8217;s rejection, all the convicts had exhausted their legal options for relief from the death sentence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Tihar Jail authorities yesterday filed a plea for issuing a fresh death warrant to the four convicts &#8211; Vinay Sharma, Akshay Thakur, Mukesh Singh and Pawan Gupta.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">All four men were convicted and sentenced to death for raping a 23-year-old paramedic student in a moving bus in the national capital on the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">She passed away at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore while undergoing the treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The four death row convicts in 2012 Nirbhaya case will be hanged at 5.30 am on March 20, a Delhi court ordered on Thursday.
