Bobde said, &#8220;If somebody is going to be executed then nothing can be more urgent than this.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The court asked Mukesh&#8217;s lawyer to approach the court registry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The hanging of all four convicts in the case is to take place on February 1 at 6 am, as per the new directive of the court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">A Delhi court on Saturday dismissed the petition filed by the lawyers of the convicts alleging the Tihar prison authorities were delaying in handing over certain documents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">This was after the public prosecutor appearing for the Tihar jail authorities told the court that the convicts were adopting delaying tactics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Four convicts, Vinay, Akshay, Pawan and Mukesh were convicted and sentenced to death for raping a 23-year-old paramedic student in a moving bus in the national capital on the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">She passed away at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore while undergoing the treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mukesh Singh, one of the four death row convicts in the 2012 Delhi gang-rape and murder case moved the Supreme Court on Monday seeking urgent hearing on his plea against the dismissal of his mercy plea by President Ram Nath Kovind.
