The firm\u2019s lawyers will seek an urgent hearing on the matter after top court reopens on January 6.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Cyrus Mistry was restored as the executive chairman of Tata Sons on December 18 by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), three years after he was sacked at a board meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Mistry had contested his removal as chairman in 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The NCLAT, last month sided with Mistry, deeming the appointment of N Chandrasekaran as group chairman illegal.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tata Sons on Thursday moved the Supreme Court against last month\u2019s tribunal order restoring Cyrus Mistry as company&#8217;s chairman.
