\"\"After\u00a0 recent\u00a0 political developments in Maharashtra,\u00a0 Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Saturday lashed out at BJP. He termed BJP as ‘Contract Killer Of Democracy’. In a press briefing, Surjewala said, “23rd November shall go down in the history of India as a black-chapter when an illegitimate government was constituted by a Governor acting as a hit-man on the Constitution of India at the instance of a Home Minister who considers Constitution as his captive instrument. After scaring an opportunist\u00a0 Ajit Pawar of putting him behind bars, BJP constituted an illegitimate Government in Maharashtra by acting as a contract killer for democracy. BJP and Ajit Pawar have together acted like the \u2018Duryodhan\u2019 and the \u2018Shakuni\u2019 to rip-off and cheat a democratic mandate given by people of Maharashtra. They have actually betrayed the people of Maharashtra. Prior to the elections, Devendra Fadnavis and the BJP promised to send Ajit Pawar to Arthur Road jail in Rs. 72,000 crore irrigation scam, but, post the elections, they have sent him to Mantralaya as Deputy Chief Minister. This is only possible in Modi regime that is why they say \u2018Modi Hai to Mumkin Hai\u2019.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Adding further, Surjewala said, “In the history of independent India,\u00a0this may be the only occasion when in the dead of the night, Constitution was subverted, democracy was throttled and rule of law was mowed down by Governor to surreptitiously induct an illegitimate Government of the BJP. The Governor of Maharashtra instead of protecting his constitutional duties has acted as a hit-man for the Home Minister Amit Shah. To sell the mandate given by people of India by auctioning the trust of the legislatures has now become a norm for the BJP post Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Goa, Uttaranchal, Haryana and Manipur, now the BJP is seeking to trample upon Constitution of India and its mandate in a similar fashion in Maharashtra and this is being done by none less than Prime Minister of India and the Home Minister of India.<\/span><\/p>\n

BJP\u2019s Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday morning took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for a second term at Raj Bhavan while National Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

Denying any support to BJP, NCP chief Sharad Pawar held a joint press conference today with Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray amidst the upsurge of power in Maharashtra.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sahard Pawar said that the MLAs accompanying Ajit Pawar were with him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will make the government; the number is with us. Fadnavis could not prove a majority,\u201d Sharad Pawar added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pawar further said Ajit Pawar\u2019s decision was an act of indiscipline and adding to it he said the Devendra Fadnavis government would not be able to win a floor test in the assembly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whereas,\u00a0Shiv Sena\u2019s Uddhav Thackeray said that democracy is being mocked. They will not be able to prove majority in the House.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
