\"\"<\/a>Amid a political crisis in Maharashtra, NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Monday met Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi. \u00a0After the meeting, Pawar told reporters that the formation of a new government with Shiv Sena was not discussed in the meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting which was looked like a major step to break the deadlock of creating the government in Maharashtra seems to fail the expectations as Pawar said that the first NCP and Congress have to discuss things between themselves and then they will take any decision on government formation.<\/span><\/p>\n

On November 12, Maharashtra came under President\u2019s after all the parties failed to form a government in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

BJP, the single largest party, could not stake claim to form a government as its ally Shiv Sena remained firm over sharing of the chief minister\u2019s post since the assembly election results were announced on October 24.<\/span><\/p>\n

The BJP had emerged as the single-largest party with 105 seats in the 288-member Assembly. The Shiv Sena at 56, the NCP 54 and the Congress won 44 seats.<\/span><\/p>\n

The BJP was invited by the governor to form the government in the state, but the party refused to stake a claim, its ally Shiv Sena also failed Governor\u2019s deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Governor had then invited Sharad Pawar\u2019s NCP, the third-largest party to prove the support of required MLAs needed to form the government, failing which the President\u2019s Rule was imposed in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
