As the winter session of the parliament begins on Monday, Raut said, the party will not participate in the meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I have learnt that the meeting of NDA is being held on November 17. We had already decided against attending it considering the developments in Maharashtra,” Raut said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant on Monday resigned as Union Minister.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBJP has taken a lot of strides in Maharashtra in the pursuit of falsehood .. Shiv Sena\u2019s side is the truth. Why stay in Delhi government in such a false environment? And that is why I am resigning as the Union Minister,\u201d Sawant tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The political crisis in Maharashtra intensified after the BJP conceded its inability to form the government in state despite having the mandate for its pre-poll alliance with Shiv Sena.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

BJP and Shiv Sena failed to resolve the deadlock over 50-50 power-sharing formula as part of which Sena wanted its candidate to be the chief minister for at least two and half years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The BJP blamed the Sena for insulting the public\u2019s mandate and wished it best to form a government with the support of Congress and NCP.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar ruled out mid-term elections in Maharashtra and said NCP-Congress and Shiv Sena will form a government in the state, which will complete a full term.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday imposed President\u2019s rule in Maharashtra after the Union Cabinet\u2019s recommendation amid uncertainty in the state over\u00a0government formation.<\/span><\/p>\n
