Before leaving from Riyadh, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar in a tweet said, \u201cLeaving with a marked upswing in bilateral relations. PM @narendramodi departs from Riyadh after steering the India-Saudi relationship on a upward trajectory pointing towards greater collaboration in future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

PM Modi said he was grateful to the people and government of Saudi Arabia for their excellent hospitality.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am extremely grateful to the people and Government of Saudi Arabia for their excellent hospitality. I am honoured to have got an opportunity to address @FIIKSA. Interacting with the top leadership of Saudi Arabia was also very productive,\u201d Modi tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the visit, PM Modi held talks with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSustaining the momentum of regular high-level contacts PM @narendramodi held fruitful discussions with Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bin Salman, a close friend of India, on adding greater dynamism and depth to the bilateral strategic partnership,\u201d Kumar tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn a significant upgradation of the strategic partnership, PM @narendramodi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sign the Strategic Partnership Council Agreement,\u201d Kumar added.<\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 12 agreements and MoUs were signed between the two countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, PM Modi also met King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two leaders exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations, including MoUs and Agreements signed during his visit to India in February last year. They discussed the Middle East Peace Process and other regional developments. Both leaders also discussed cooperation in counter-terrorism.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHistorical links, cultural affinities and people-to-people contacts between India and Jordan have existed since times immemorial.
