Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived in New York after addressing a massive gathering of nearly 50,000 Indian-Americans at the mega ‘Howdy, Modi’ event in Houston, which was also attended by US President Donald Trump.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday, PM Modi received a rockstar\u2019s welcome at the NRG stadium in Houston amid chants of ‘Modi-Modi’. During his address the PM spoke about the transformations taking pace at a rapid scale in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

As he greeted President Trump in his inaugural speech, Modi also stressed on the relations between the two countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis morning in Houston, you can hear the heartbeat of this great partnership in this celebration of the world\u2019s two largest democracies. You can feel the strength and depth of human bonds between our two great nations,\u201d Modi added.<\/span><\/p>\n

PM Modi also recalled the time when Trump assured him of White House support to India. \u201cWhen I met him for the first time he said to me, \u2018India has true friend in White House.\u2019 Your presence here today is great testimony to that,\u201d said Modi.<\/span><\/p>\n

While referring to the billions of Indians in the US, Modi told Trump, \u201cYou had introduced me to your family in 2017. Today, I introduce you to my family.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
