landed in Vladivostok a short while ago. A series of programmes await today as well as tomorrow,\u201d Prime Minister\u2019s office said in a tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n

PM Modi was welcomed on his arrival at Vladivostok airport in Russia.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPM @narendramodi was warmly welcomed at Vladivostok airport on his 3rd bilateral visit to Russia. Over the next 2 days, bilateral meeting with President Putin, participation at Eastern Economic Forum & meetings with other world leaders on the agenda,\u201d Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before departing for Russia, PM Modi said he looked forward to discussing regional and international issues of mutual interest with Putin.<\/span><\/p>\n

PM Modi also said his visit underlined the desire on both sides to diversity and further strengthen bilateral relations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe objective of my visit is two fold- to participate as the Chief Guest at the 5th Eastern Economic Forum at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and to hold the 20th India-Russia Annual Summit with him,\u201d PM Modi said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Forum focuses on development of business and investment opportunities in the Russian Far East Region and presents enormous potential for developing close and mutually beneficial cooperation between India and Russia in this region, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur two Countries enjoy excellent relations, based on the strong foundation of our special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. Both countries cooperate extensively in the strategic fields of defence, civil nuclear energy and peaceful uses of space. We have robust and growing trade and investment relations,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur strong partnership is complemented by a desire to promote a multipolar world and the two countries closely cooperate towards this end in regional and multilateral fora,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to discussing with my friend President Putin the entire gamut of our bilateral partnership as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest,\u201d the Prime Minister said.<\/span><\/p>\n
