{"id":314778,"date":"2019-08-30T04:22:28","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T04:22:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/?p=314778"},"modified":"2019-08-30T04:22:28","modified_gmt":"2019-08-30T04:22:28","slug":"pm-modi-to-present-yoga-awards-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/pm-modi-to-present-yoga-awards-today\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Modi to present Yoga awards today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-310353 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/tehelka.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/modi-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"528\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/03\/modi-10.jpg 528w, https:\/\/tehelka.com\/media\/2019\/03\/modi-10-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday will present Yoga awards to the winners of\u00a0PM\u2019s Award for Outstanding Contribution for Promotion and Development of Yoga, which were announced during the International Day of Yoga, 2019 at Ranchi, along with the two winners of the previous year in an event being organized by the Ministry of AYUSH tomorrow at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">On this occasion, the Prime Minister would also release 12 commemorative postal stamps to honour eminent scholars, Practitioners and great Master Healers of AYUSH Systems. These commemorative postal stamps highlight the great work and acknowledge the achievements of the great Master Healers of AYUSH Systems.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The PM\u2019s award for outstanding contribution for Promotion and Development of Yoga had been institutionalized and announced during 2ndInternational Day of Yoga (IDY) event held at Chandigarh on June 21 2016 and since then the awards are conferred to the notable contributors in the field. Winners, selected under different categories out of 79 nominations for the current year and 186 nominations in the previous year, were announced this year during the IDY event held at Ranchi and each of them will be felicitated with a Cash Award of Rs. 25 lakh, Trophy and a Certificate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">PM Modi\u00a0will also launch 10 AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres (AYUSH HWCs) located\u00a0in the state of\u00a0Haryana and are in line with Ministry of AYUSH\u2019s commitment to make 12,500 AHWCs functional in next three years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In order to provide comprehensive primary healthcare, AYUSH components have been integrated in Health and Wellness Centres under Ayushman Bharat.\u00a0These Centres will be complementing the National Health Policy, 2017 that insisted upon integration and mainstreaming of AYUSH services in conventional health care delivery system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It would be a historic beginning in mainstreaming of holistic, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative AYUSH care for achieving comprehensive health care. The main focus of these AYUSH HWCs would be empowering the community for \u2018self care\u2019 by imbibing AYUSH based healthy food and lifestyle, social behaviour and use of medicinal plants for primary health care. Provisions will also be made for diagnostics and medicines for a wide range of health problems.
