India also said that Pakistan was trying to mislead the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The statement came after the UN Security Council held a closed-door meeting to discuss revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">India&#8217;s envoy to United Nations, Syed Akbaruddin said that Article 370 has no external ramifications. &#8220;India\u2019s position was and remains that matter related to Article 370 of the Constitution is entirely an internal matter of India,&#8221; Syed Akbaruddin said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">There were some who tried to project an alarmist approach to the situation, which is far from the ground realities, Akbaruddin said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThe recent decisions taken by the Government of India and our legislative bodies are intended to ensure that good governance is promoted, social-economic development is enhanced for our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh,\u201d Akbaruddin added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Taking a swipe at Pakistan, Akbaruddin said Islamabad should stop terror and start talks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">On August 5, India revoked special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and split into two Union Territories &#8212; Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India on Friday said that the country\u2019s decision to scrap provisions of Article 370 that have special status to Jammu and Kashmir was an internal matter.
