Jai Hind!\u201d he added. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The Kargil War between India and Pakistan took place from May 3 and July 26, 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the successful\u00a0Operation Vijay, is celebrated in India on July 26 every year, in honour of the Kargil War&#8217;s Heroes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The\u00a0Kargil war\u00a0was fought for over 60 days, ended on July 26 and resulted in loss of life on both the sides<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The war ended with India regaining control of all the previously held territory, re-establishing the\u00a0status quo ante bellum.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday will pay homage to soldiers and officers of the Indian Army who were martyred in Kargil conflict in 1999.
